Services

I try and run creative, full service educational program for my clients.  I like to take advantage of technology to enhance learning whenever possible.  Sidesaddle lessons (I may even have a saddle), jumping, ground manners, trail riding, trick training, dressage, natural horsemanship and problem solving are all possible.  Short term problem solving packages are also available.

Lessons
1 hour private lessons are available on weekdays until 2pm and on weekends.  I come to you and your horse.  Depending on the distance, a travel surcharge may apply.  There is a discount for multiple lessons at the same location at the same time, so bring your friends.  $65/hour

Specialty Lesson Packages
Seat training: Do you ever wish you had a better seat?  I offer a package to improve your confidence and stability in the saddle.  I guarantee it! $450/8 lessons (travel surcharge may apply). 

Trick Training:  Teach your horse a trick!  Step on a pedestal, Shake, Smile or another simple trick of your choosing.  $340/6 lessons 

Solve a Problem:  Do wish your horse would stand still for mounting?  Stand to be saddled?  Tie better?  Was easier to catch?  Easier to lead? Maybe something else bothers you about your horse's behavior-call me and we can work out a plan.  Basic package $240/4 lessons, complex problems may be more. 

Your First Horse: Thinking about getting a horse?  If you are thinking about buying a horse and boarding it or keeping it at home, let me help you get off on the right foot.  What equipment you will need, what to look for in a first horse, how to care for the horse, what to look for in a stable, these topics are all covered.  Includes a resource list of books and helpful websites to continue your education.  $200/session (2-3 hours)  Local or combination e-mail/phone option

Video Recording of Lessons
I will video your lesson with your camera for free, or I will video your lesson on my DVD-r camera for a surcharge of $15 (disk included).

Instant Replay Lessons
For all you visual learners, ask me about the instant replay lesson.  If you supply an SD card you can even keep the replays! $10 extra per lesson

Horse Training
Horse training is also available, the same rates and availability applies for short term training (less than 10 visits).  If you aren't present, training includes an e-mail about what we did. If you are interested in long term training please call for rates.  $65/session

Lessons by Mail
Send me a VHS tape, a DVD, or a link to an online ride and I will provide feedback, tips and recommend exercises to help you and your horse improve.  Three day turnaround in most cases. $50/lesson

E-mail Questions
I answer questions on all kinds of equestrian topics.  Barn building, site planning, pasture management, tack, equipment as well as riding and training.  This can be especially useful when you just need a new perspective on the problem or another idea.  Expect to receive my thoughts as well as a selection of links. Quick responses are free, involved answers $10/question or $250/year for unlimited questions. (included with other services)

Telephone Questions
The telephone can also be a great way to consult about a question.  E-mail me for a specific time to call and we will discuss your question. $35/45 min. (limited telephone questions included with other services)

Site Consulting
Facility building from fencing to indoor arenas, get some advice from someone with a lifetime of experience.  $60/hour (local or e-mail/phone)

Horse Purchasing
I evaluate horses for sale for clients and non-clients, and I will also conduct a horse search on your behalf.  E-mail for details.
